• Dr. Joanna Sutcliffe, Associate Dentist BDS MCGDent DPDS Dip Implants MSc Rest Dentistry GDC No: 70622

Joanna graduated with honours from Bristol, and after a year working in practice in the Lake District came to Devon to do a year’s oral surgery training at the RD&E. After achieving Diplomas from the Royal College of Surgeons and Bristol University in the field of General Practice, she was a founding partner in an innovative new, out-of-town all female, private practice in Exeter. After 10 years, she left practice ownership to continue further post graduate studies at Bristol, achieving a distinction at diploma level in Dental Implants in 2016 and in 2018 was awarded a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry with Merit from the University of Plymouth. She has been involved in teaching undergraduate dental students at Peninsula dental school.

She is a member of the ADI and ITI implant groups, the Devon Independent practitioners’ group, Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD), and the British Society of Restorative Dentistry (BSRD). This keeps her busy but up to date with modern practice.

Her passion is to work with you to improve and maintain all aspects of your oral health and to provide you with the highest quality care and service.

Her areas of interest include the provision of care for anxious patients requiring dental sedation, comprehensive care involving cosmetic or functional rehabilitation of your smile and the replacement of missing teeth / stabilising dentures with dental implant treatment options.

“I aim to help you bring out your best smile; be that keeping your natural teeth for life or replacing those that you may have lost. It could be simply overcoming dental anxiety, whitening your smile, or replacing old unsightly fillings. I can also guide you through the more complex multiple tooth or full mouth reconstructions for severely broken down mouths, offering fixed solutions e.g. bridges or implants or removable solutions e.g. full or part dentures to replace missing teeth and create a better looking and functioning smile that best suits your needs.”

Away from work, she enjoys horse riding with her daughter, cycling and running with her husband and looking after her vegetable patch and her chickens.

• Dr. Mark Neal, Associate Dentist BDS Bham GDC No: 55953

Mark has worked in general practice in South Devon since 1983. After graduating in 1981 from Birmingham University, he spent a year working in a hospital oral surgery department in the midlands before moving down to Bovey Tracey in 1983 where he helped establish a new dental practice. In 1987 Mark took over the sole ownership of the Bovey practice and worked there until October 2014 when he joined El- Nashar Dental Care as an associate. Mark works in the field of general dentistry but has a particular interest in dental prosthetics.

• Dr. Lauren Andrews, Associate Dentist BcHD Leeds GDC No: 114138

Lauren qualified in Leeds in 2007, where she worked for 3 years. She moved to Devon after having her first little boy and has worked locally ever since, joining the El-Nashar Team in 2017. Lauren enjoys all aspects of general practice dentistry with a particular interest in the restorative side.

• Dr Christopher Robets BDS, FFGDP (RCS, Eng), DipDSed (KCL), DipDHSL&M (RCS, Eng) GDC No: 80796

Chris graduated from the University of Cardiff in 2002 and began his career as a General Dentist in North Wales. His path soon led overseas with the Ministry of Defence, serving in Germany and the Sultanate of Brunei. During this time, he gained several postgraduate qualifications, including the MFGDP, a Diploma in Dental Health Services Leadership and Management (RCS England), and a Diploma in Dental Sedation (King’s College London). On returning to the UK, Chris became Clinical Director of the Community Dental Service in Cornwall, now a thriving Social Enterprise. He has held several national roles, including Clinical Expert and Fitness to Practise Panel member for the General Dental Council, practice inspector for the CQC, and Overseas Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed his Fellowship with the RCS during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains an active member. In recent years, Chris served as a Clinical Supervisor and later Associate Professor of Primary Care Dentistry at the Peninsula Dental School, overseeing its fitness to practise programme. Alongside his academic roles, he maintained clinical practice and joins El-Nashar after time in private practice in Surrey. Chris thrives on the diversity of dentistry—from general and military practice to education and regulation—but his focus remains firmly on patient comfort and safety. He has a special interest in minimally invasive dentistry and complex treatment planning, always involving patients in their care decisions. His wide-ranging experience brings a deep well of knowledge to his clinical work.

• Dr. Mohamed Elneklawy – Specialist in Endodontics BDS, MRD RCSEd (Endodontics)

Dr. Mohamed qualified in 2004 from Cairo University, Egypt. He went on to complete 3 years of specialist training in Restorative Dentistry with a subspecialty in Endodontics, achieving the prestigious Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) in Endodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. With a passion for education, Mohamed founded the Royal Dentists Institute in 2011, a leading postgraduate training centre in the Middle East. Alongside teaching, he ran a successful private practice in Cairo, offering advanced endodontic treatments using surgical operating microscopes and accepting complex referral cases. In 2016, Mohamed relocated to the UK to join the University of Leeds as a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Restorative Dentistry, where he focused on undergraduate and postgraduate training in Endodontics. In 2018, he was added to the GDC Specialist List in Endodontics following rigorous assessment of his qualifications and clinical experience. Dr. Mohamed has extensive experience in root canal treatments, re-treatments, and the management of complex endodontic cases such as perforations, separated instruments, and post removal. He will also be accepting referrals for endodontic microsurgery, including apicectomies. He is committed to providing comprehensive assessments and clear, honest treatment planning, ensuring patients are fully informed and confident in their care.

• Franchesca White, Dental Therapist Bsc Hons DHDT GDC No: 129178

Fran started her career in dentistry qualifying as a Dental Nurse in 2005 from this she gained her qualifications in orthodontic nursing and dental radiography. Aspiring to take a more active role in patient care Fran undertook a degree in Dental Hygiene and Therapy qualifying with first-class honours in 2015. As a Dental Therapist her role includes carrying out preventative and restorative treatments for both adults and children. She’s passionate in periodontal care and provides a holistic caring approach to her patients. In 2016 she had a paper published in the British Dental Hygiene Therapy annual journal.

• Sian Baldwin, Dental Therapist RCS Dip DHDT RCS GDC No: 128681

Sian has been working in dentistry for over 15 years. She started as a Dental Assistant and then decided to train to become a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist in 2005. As a Dental Therapist her role includes carrying out preventative and restorative treatments for both adults and children. Sian loves working with people and particularly enjoys helping patients with more advanced gum problems to achieve better oral health. She has a calm and gentle approach which helps to reassure our more anxious patients.

• Erica Lewis, Dental Hygienist Dip HE RCS GDC No: 247862

After originally graduating with a music degree Erica began dental nursing for her own dentist following a discussion in her routine dental check up! Erica soon realised she wanted a career in dental hygiene, and graduated in 2016 from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Erica loves working in dentistry and has an empathetic and personal approach with her patients. She relocated to Devon in 2020 to start a family. Outside of work she is passionate about food and travel.

• Nicholas Oh, Dental Hygienist, Bsc Hons DH, GDC No: 298559

Nick graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 2021 and shortly after joined the El-Nashar Dental Care team. As a Dental Hygienist, Nick’s primary focus lies in the prevention and management of gum disease. Nick ensures every patient’s appointment is tailored to their individual clinical needs, creating individual treatment plans, conducting professional mechanical plaque removal and providing valuable oral health education. As someone who used to suffer with dental anxiety, it is very important to Nick that his patients feel at ease with their appointments and works with his patients to achieve this. In his free time, Nicks enjoys playing badminton, delving into the world of watches and savouring delicious meals with friends and family!

• Terri Weir, Dental Hygienist, GDC No: 280231

Terri joined El-Nashar Dental Care in 2024 after qualifying from Cardiff University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Prior to this Terri has been a qualified dental nurse since 2016. Terri works with a kind and empathetic manner towards her patients.

• Mary Conquest, Dental Nurse Manager GDC No: 193892

Mary qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2009 in London and gained her Dental Radiography qualification in 2016 and Sedation Qualification in 2024 She is experienced in all general dentistry as well as specific areas such as Implants, Sedation and Radiography. Mary is El-Nashar's De-Contamination Lead working through policies & procedures and regular validation and testing. With support from Kera and our nursing team, she is responsible for the smooth daily running of the surgeries.

Kera qualified as a Dental Nurse in July 2023 but joined the El-Nashar team Originally in 2021, as a trainee Dental Nurse, Kera took a gap year and went travelling the world only to return back to us. Kera is a dedicated and compassionate dental nurse with experience in all aspects of dentistry, she is experienced in supporting with Dental Implants and is working towards her Radiography Qualification. She believes in putting patient's needs first, ensuring a comfortable and supportive experience for everyone she works with. Kera Supports Our Nurse Manager Mary with the practice operations.

Kelly has over 18 years experience within dentistry and is clinically trained. Her role as Practice Manager is to oversee and manage the day to day running of the practice. Kelly prides herself on ensuring that top quality patient care is delivered at all stages of the patient journey.

• Katherine King, Deputy Practice Manager GDC No: 125336

Katherine joined us in 2001 as a Dental Nurse and then went on to become the practice’s first Treatment Co-ordinator. In her role as Treatment Co-ordinator, Katherine uses her clinical training to support both our clinicians and patients in practice. Katherine also works within the Senior Management Team, as our Deputy Practice Manager, supporting with the day-to-day running of the practice.
